Nathan's first time in the pool

Today was Nathan's first time in a pool. While he was only allowed to get his legs and arms wet, he still had a good time. He wanted so badly to go all the way in, but with the tube we couldn't allow it. Kevin and I did promise him, once the tube is out, we will take him back to the Bavarian Inn.

Nathan said Mama for the first time

My little man said MaMa tonight. He was sitting on the floor playing, and kept saying DaDa over and over again. I said, "Nathan, say MaMa" But he kept saying DaDa. So I kept saying MaMa, and hoping he would repeat it. Well he did!!!!! It was muffled, but he said it, and he said it a few times. I just picked him up and had tears in my eyes. I was SO proud, and excited. I was hoping he would have done it when we weren't alone, so I had proof he said it. Well Aunt Lindsay came by a little while later, and I did get him to say it in front of her, so now I have a witness. We also ended up getting it on video, but it was when Nathan was in the tub, and I can't post that video. ~lol God, I love being a mom.

Nathan's first time on a swing and a slide

He loved being in his swing, and playing on his slide. Since the files are too big and I cannot show everyone the video, you can see the pictures in his journal, under First Mother's Day

To see the video of the slide please see the link below. I also have a video of him on the swing, but it is too long to upload.

Nathan's first time sitting up unassisted

I am using today as the first day Nathan sat up unassisted. He has been sitting up for a little while now, but always falls down after a minute or so. But today was the first day he sat up longer than a couple minutes, and when he went to fall over, he caught himself, and sat right back up. He is balancing SO much better now.

It's been a few day now, and he keeps getting stronger and stronger. We are SO proud of our little man. He is also trying to sit from the laying down position.

Happy First Mother's Day

I had the BEST first Mother's Day EVER!!!!! Kevin slept in Nathan's room the night before so I could sleep in. My plan was to sleep until noon. After all, I can't remember the last time I slept in that late. Well I was up by 9:30am, which is still late for me. I thought about just chillin in bed, but when I heard Nathan babbling, I had to see him. Kevin brought Nathan in and I got a HUGE hug and kiss from him. It was SO sweet. Then Kevin handed me a card he made me, and it was so swet. I have the best husband ever. Then Nathan gave me his card and a present. The card was super cute, and he gave me a "mommy and me" precious moments. I just love it.

After I got out of bed, I decided to give Nathan a bath. Since he has always hated baths, I decided to give him a sponge bath. Well as I am trying to clean him up, he kept trying to put hands in it. So I sat him up, to clean his back and he started splasing water EVERYWHERE!!! It was SO funny. Kevin came in and asked why the carpet was so wet, and why I didn't just put him in his tub. I explained it was because he always hated the bath. Well we ended up getting his tub out, and he absolutly LOVED it. He splashed and played until he turned purple from the water getting cold. We wanted to take a video but of course, the camera and camcorder batteries were dead. So this is the only shot we could get. Not too bad for a camera phone.

The afternoon came and Grandma & Grandpa (W) came by. (We were having a Mother's day BBQ, and they were the first to show up.) We took Nathan outside and he got to use his swing and slide for the first time. He just LOVED it!! He was laughing SO hard, and making all of us laugh to tears. I would love to show everyone one the videos, but it will not let me download them here because the file is too big. And I do not have the software to shorten it. He is also sitting up all by himself now. AND he can stand VERY well. (with support) But here are a few pictures of him from our Wonderful Mother's Day.

A little while later Grandma and Grandpa (S) came over along with Uncle Bryan. We had a nice BBQ. After we ate, the Wood grandparents left, and so did grandpa (S). Kevin and Bryan went in the basement and played darts, while Nathan entertained me and grandma (S). I brought out his little bucket with water and some toys to play with. Yeah, he got water EVERYWHERE. The carpet was soaked again, and he was soaked as well.~Lol It was a GREAT day, and I did not want it to end. We are very blessed to have Nathan in our lives.

What a Great Weekend

We had a great weekend. Now that we got the feeding pump backpack, I can take him places and he can still get his 22hr feed. So Saturday Nathan and I got up and headed to a mom2mom sale. First we picked up grandma (S) then headed to the sale. I was able to use my new baby bjorn for the first time. (I got it at last weeks mom2mom sale for $15.00. It was just like new. And they go for $80.00 in the stores) We walked around for awhile, but I really didn't see anything that interested me. I did however get Nathan a toy for $2. And it was one of the best purchases I have made. It was a giraffe, with about 7 blocks. Each block had something different in them. He LOVES that toy. The blocks are small enough for him to hold, and he loves placing them inside the giraffe.

After the sale, mom and I went to pick up GGma and headed to Kmart. I was getting frustrated because his pump kept beeping, and when I finally gave up on it, and tried to flush Nathan's tube to stop the feed, I realized Nathan's tube was kinked. After fixing that Nathan and I headed to the toy department. About 2 minutes later, I heard Nathan going to the bathroom. "OH NO" I pulled his pants down some, and could just see it coming through the diaper. "YUCK" I rushed him to my mom, grabbed the car keys to get his diaper bag, and then rushed him to the restroom. (Man I should of just stayed home today) After cleaning him up and changing his clothes, we checked out and headed back to GGma's house.

Mom and I went to lunch afterwards. BD's Mongolian BBQ. I just love that place. It taste's SO yummy. After lunch we dropped mom off, and headed home. We were greeted by Kevin and grandpa W. We hung outside for a bit where Nathan finally said his first word. (See Fun Facts) Grandpa took Nathan for a LONG walk, and during the walk Nathan fell asleep. He slept until we got done with the lawn. All in all Saturday was an awesome day. And Nathan was in a awesome mood.

Sunday Nathan was up at 7:45am, which even though I was tired, I was kind of happy. That meant we had ALL day to hang out since Kevin was off work. We went into the front room, turned on Diego, and played with some toys. (We originally planned a trip to the zoo, but we thought the weather was supposed to be crappy) About 8:15am Kevin decided to lay back down, because he was tired and had a headache. So Nathan and I just played and watched cartoons in between his fussy fits. Kevin finally woke up about 11:15am. I was a little disappointed because we missed out on 3 hrs of family time.

We decided to take Nathan for a walk, when Kevin's dad called. He and Terri were on their way to come see us, so we waited on the walk until they got here. During the walk we all decided to head to the Dairy Queen. (Surprise, Surprise) Nathan had a few bites of his ice cream, then was done. Once we got home Nathan continued to be fussy, so instead of waiting the hour until dinner, (we were meeting family at Texas Roadhouse) we decided to leave and stop at a few stores on the way. He slept in the car until we made it to the restaurant. Dinner was excellent, but Nathan was SUPER fussy, and even had a few major crying spells. Not sure what is deal was today.

Once we returned home, we went for a walk to wine down for the night. We walked about a mile, and then chilled outside for a bit. I put Nathan on the grass for the first time, and he was a little unsure about it. He was trying to grab the grass, but couldn't pull it out of the ground.~Lol Then we practiced standing. He is doing SO much better. He can stand straight up, and even hold himself up for awhile. I still have to have my hands under his armpits, but I let him do all the work. He laid him in bed at 8pm, because he was fussy, but he didn't fall asleep until almost 9pm.

All in all, it was a GREAT weekend!!!!!!

Nathan said Dada for the first time

Yes, he did. He said Dada today. He has been trying for awhile, but he normally says "A Da"

We were outside (Me, Nathan, Kevin & Grandpa W.) trying to get stuff ready to cut the grass. I was holding Nathan and Kevin was standing next to me playing with him. Kevin walked away to start the lawn, and Nathan look at him and said DaDa. I was like "OMG, he just said DaDa." Hank was like "He did, I heard him" So Kevin ran back and we tried getting him to say it again. Of course he didn't. So Kevin went back to the front to cut the lawn, and I continued trying get another DaDa out of him. After Kevin was done with the front, we started walking toward the back, and once Nathan seem him he said it again.

Since Kevin has not heard it, he doesn't believe it's true. He thinks Nathan is just babbling. But he clearly said DaDa, and only said it when he seen his daddy.

Here is a link of him saying it. It's so cute, and sorry it's sideways. I can't rotate it.
